St John's Church of England Primary School

Banner - St John's Primary School

Our school, St John’s Primary, officially started in 2017 on the initiative and hard work of the then vicar Fr David Stevenson. The first school building was our small, historic parish hall on Estcourt Road.

When our purpose-built school on Clarendon Road was ready in September 2019, we were able to move in. It is very dear to our hearts as having begun only six years ago we have watched it grow like anxious parents. It is now flourishing and the connection between school and church is very much part of our church life.

St John's Primary School is rooted in the Christian heritage of educating our young people and supporting families and the community. Our pupils are encouraged to express their thoughts and ideas, questioning the world around them while respecting the opinions of others. It teaches the National Curriculum in exciting and creative ways, always underpinned with an ethos of knowledge and truth, honesty and selflessness which will allow our children to flourish as lifelong learners and good citizens in our ever growing and evolving world.
