Virtual tour - the rood screen

The imposing Rood Screen was designed by Sir John Ninian Comper (1864-1960) the renowned British Anglo-Catholic architect and designer. Rood screens date from the middle ages and became popular again in Victorian times. The screen depicts Jesus dying on the cross, with the Virgin Mary and St John standing beside Him – John 19:25-27.
