Jesus dies on the cross.

We adore You, Lord Christ, and we bless You
Because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.

From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land. About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” – which means, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?”

Matthew 27:45-46.

Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into Your hands I commit My Spirit.” When He had said this, he breathed his last.

Luke 23:46.

I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted away within Me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and My tongue sticks to the roof of My mouth; You lay Me in the dust of death.

Psalm 22:14-15.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Chris, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds, hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from thee.
From the malicious enemy, defend me.
In the hour of my death, call me.
And bid me come to Thee.
That with Thy saints I may praise Thee for ever and ever.
Amen.
