Jesus is nailed to the cross.
We adore You, Lord Christ, and we bless You
Because by Your holy cross You have redeemed the world.
When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals – one on His right, and the other on His left. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His clothes by casting lots. The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at Him. They said, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.” The soldiers also came up and mocked Him. They offered him wine vinegar and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.” There was a written notice above Him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Luke 23:33-38.
My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are you so far from saving me. All who see Me mock Me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads: “He trusts in the Lord; let the Lord rescue Him. Let Him deliver Him, since he delights in Him.”…a band of evil men has encircled Me, they have pierced My hands and My feet…They divide My garments among them and cast lots for My clothing. For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted One; He has not hidden his face from Him, but has listened to his cry for help.
Psalm 22:1-24.
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world;
Have mercy upon us.
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world;
Have mercy upon us.
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world;
Grant us Thy peace.
